Organized, conducted and supervised high throughput maize genetics applications.

n     Designed, implemented, and supervised field crosses, phenotyping, and sampling of maize inbred lines.

n     Profiled RNA expression via microarray chips, designed and implemented database management strategies.

n     Amplified, cloned, sequenced, aligned, and analyzed genes involved in protein accumulation from a diverse set of maize and teosinte lines.

n     Managed laboratory computer and network administration.

 

October 1998 – July 2000:  

Laboratory Researcher

 

 

 

 

Organized, conducted and supervised high throughput Arabidopsis genetics applications.

n     Designed and implemented QTL analysis on affect of nitrogen fixation on plant growth using recombinant inbred lines and ecotypes.

n     Amplified, sequenced, aligned and analyzed positional candidate genes revealed in QTL study.

n     Designed and implemented a similar study on top 10 high and low growth plants.

n     Extracted RNA for use by Lynx Therapeutics using their proprietary MPSS technology.

n     Performed and supervised various DNA extraction and general molecular biology techniques.

n     Managed laboratory computer and network administration.
